dreaming of unapolgetic lovers
I know what you’re thinking: You don’t want to be spending all of the time you could be using to hang out with your friends and family on trying to capture tons of poses from all different angles with controlled circumstances. But what you do want is high-quality images, done in a quick amount of time, which ample variety.
That’s where I (or this list of suggestions for you to use during your wedding portrait session) come in.
Your wedding day is all about the love you share with your partner – so why not go all in and capture the romance with some great wedding poses? My job as your wedding photographer involves knowing when to step in and direct the moment, and when to step back and let you two interact with each other while I capture what unfolds naturally. This is what I like to call “docutorial,” or a blend of editorial photography and documentary photography. I love to blend the two styles together seamlessly so that you can have the best of both worlds.
My job goes well beyond simply “clicking a button” and then “applying a preset” later. It is mastering the art of noticing, of curating, of capturing. This allows me to preserve the moments as they happened in their most true, genuine form- which results in the most beautiful portraits for your wedding day.
Everybody wants this (okay maybe not everyone, but certainly your grandma!) to put on their fridge. There is a reason this is one of my top 5 favorite poses to do on your wedding day! It is simple, elegant, and shows you both off in your wedding attire with a beautiful smile. Absolutely can not forget this one!

If you’re looking for an intimate moment under your veil, this romantic wedding photography pose is key. I will capture you under the veil from afar, from up close, and I’ll even get under there with you! The important thing with this pose is that it does require a cathedral veil like this one – or at least one long enough to cover both of you! This is one of the most romantic wedding poses I love to incorporate on your big day.

I love movement-based prompts, and this is a really easy one to get some fun interaction between you two! Try looking at the camera, looking at each other, looking at the scenery around you, all while you are walking hand-in-hand throughout the grounds of your venue.

This one is SO fun! All you have to do is twirl in your dress while your partner adores you. This can be done while he twirls you, or you can twirl yourself!

I love incorporating something spicy, or a little sexy, into your wedding day portraits, if you’re up for it! Think classy elevator shots, a kiss on the neck, or a silhouette amongst an epic landscape. Some of my most creative wedding poses are the ones that get you to connect to each other through fun prompts like this one.

Well, there you have it! Five really easy, fool-proof wedding day poses to try on your wedding day. I always recommend creating a Pinterest Board to share your inspiration with me as your Raleigh Wedding Photographer. This way we can dream up ideas together and get a general vibe for what kind of portraits you’d like!

I’m a North Carolina-based wedding and elopement photographer and videographer, always ready to pack a bag for wherever your love takes you. Photography became my passion after losing my dad and realizing how much I wished I had more recent memories of him to look back on. That’s why I do what I do: to preserve the love, laughter, and connection in a way that feels as warm and sentimental as sunshine itself.
Your memories deserve to be captured & remembered. That’s what I’m here for.
