Raleigh is full of stunning locations for engagement photos, whether you love gardens, cityscapes, or natural parks. Some of my favorite spots (and what I definitely consider to be the best engagement photo locations in Raleigh) include:

Sarah P. Duke Gardens

Starting this list off with my favorite location that is not technically in Raleigh, but is so worth it. There are SO many beautiful spots – the opportunity to be creative is endless! I highly recommend booking a golden hour time slot here; you won’t be let down. There is a permit fee to photograph at the Sarah P. Duke gardens, so be sure to secure that before your engagement session.

Dorothea Dix Park

Dorothea Dix Park has plenty of open fields and skyline views. This spot can get busy, but there is so much room to move around! The Big Field is great and even allows drones, if you’re looking for the epic aerial shots.

Historic Oak View Park

This location boast rustic charm with white barns and lush greenery. There’s even a gazebo for some sweet, intimate portraits! The permit is free and quick to apply for. The Historic Oak View Park is perfect for an elegant, old-world inspired engagement photoshoot.

Downtown Raleigh

Downtown Raleigh is perfect for modern, urban engagement sessions. I personally love the City Market area with the cobblestone streets. The Boylan Bridge is the perfect spot for the romantic cityscape in the background of your portraits.

North Carolina Museum of Art

With gorgeous rolling hills, outdoor art structures, and tall trees all over the place, the North Carolina Museum of Art is a great location for North Carolina engagement photos. The building itself has many photo opportunities, and you are even able to take pictures inside (just without the flash!)
