Downtown Raleigh was the perfect backdrop

We took to downtown Raleigh for Hiba and Shane’s session. It was so much fun to run around the historic buildings and along the Boylan Bridge. They are set to get married in Ecuador with their closest family and friends. When planning their session, I asked if they were interested in adding on a Super 8 film. They were super intrigued and excited to get their film back, just as much as I was!

Our downtown Raleigh engagement session happened in early spring, when the temperature was a cool 65 degrees, sunny, and beautiful. We began our session about an hour before sunset so that we could enjoy the golden hour as the sun beamed off the reflective buildings downtown.

As a North Carolina Super 8 videographer, my goal is to create a film that oozes nostalgia and joy. So what the heck is Super 8? Super 8 a motion picture format introduced by Kodak in the 60’s that revolutionized home-movies and filmmaking. It is what my grandparents used to create family movies back in the day! I like to call it “low quality, high vibes.” It’s hallmark is a lot of grain and lack of clarity in the picture. It has quickly become my favorite way to create art.
