dreaming of unapolgetic lovers
There are many iconic locations to propose in San Francisco, California. As romantic as San Francisco is, it’s hard to not fall in love with it and all of its charm! Don’t get overwhelmed with all of the options, scenic viewpoints, and things to do: I’ve got you covered. Below I’ll list the best locations to propose in San Francisco as well as tips for hiring your proposal photographer.
Battery East Trail is an easy trail that is less than a mile long and offers incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Along the Battery East Trail, you can find the Ft Point View point.

The Golden Gate Postcard Viewpoint is where you can snap your most iconic postcard image with the bridge that is so quintessential to San Francisco. It is high enough that you can soaring views of the bay and the bridge, making it a memorable location for a proposal.
Having the Golden Gate Bridge in the background of this beautiful beach makes for some epic photos! Spend some time doing some “just engaged” photos running along the shore and taking in all the views.
Once the world’s largest indoor swimming pool, this privately owned complex burned down to its foundation in the 1960’s. Its ruins are all that’s left, offering a unique location surrounded by crashing waves and dramatic cliffs.

I think Marshall Beach is the best of both worlds: you get the bridge, up close and personal, towering directly over you. It is a bit of a hike down to the beach, but once you get there, it is absolutely worth it.

As your San Francisco engagement photographer, I’ll offer styling guidance and location ideas for when you’re ready to ask the love of your life to marry you. Some of my favorite locations include Marshall Beach, the Sutro Baths, Lovers Lane, and more. You can read more about my favorite locations to propose in San Francisco here!
Proposing to the love of your life not only takes guts, but it also takes lots of planning! As your San Francisco proposal photographer, I work with you to find the best location and offer guidance with planning. Whether you already have a story you need me to follow along with or you need me to hide in the bushes, I am prepared to capture every single moment! The best time to book your proposal photographer is about 3-4 weeks out from the day you want to propose. I’ll help you pick a location and time of day. For maximum privacy, I recommend sunrise; for the best golden lighting, I recommend 60 minutes before sunset. When you’re ready to plan your proposal, send me an email or inquire here!

I’m a North Carolina-based wedding and elopement photographer and videographer, always ready to pack a bag for wherever your love takes you. Photography became my passion after losing my dad and realizing how much I wished I had more recent memories of him to look back on. That’s why I do what I do: to preserve the love, laughter, and connection in a way that feels as warm and sentimental as sunshine itself.
Your memories deserve to be captured & remembered. That’s what I’m here for.
