dreaming of unapolgetic lovers

As a Colorado wedding photographer, I know how exciting it is to find the right venue with not only amazing amenities, but also a jaw-dropping view. Combine that with the right person to document it all, the beauty of the people, the day, and the sights, and you’ve got a photo gallery from your wedding at The Barn at Sunset Ranch you’ll be flipping through for years to come.

Details about The Barn at Sunset Ranch

Location

The Barn at Sunset Ranch is located at 27650 Co Rd 337, Buena Vista, CO 81211. Buena Vista is just over 2 hours southwest of Denver, Colorado. It sits in the valley of the Collegiate Peaks, which include Mt. Princeton, Mt. Columbia, and Mt. Oxford.

Occupancy

The venue is a 5,000 square foot rustic, but elegant barn that holds up to 160 or more with a tent.

Getting Ready Spaces

Cory & Miranda’s wedding at The Barn at Sunset Ranch was full of color, skiing details, and views.

As their photographer and videographer, we knew how important it was to them to relish in every moment. We honored their love by highlighting the captivating surroundings that make up the cornerstones of both of their personalities.

There are two separate getting ready suites. There is a bridal suite inside the venue, and a house attached to the venue for the groomsen to get ready. If you bring your dog, there is a “yard” with turf, games, and a fence. If you would like to stay onsite, then you can rent the house for the night or the weekend. The remainder of their party stayed off site. It may be beneficial to get ready offsite if you have a large bridal party.

They got ready separately before their first look amongst the backdrop of the amazing Collegiate Peaks. They chose to get married in September, which is peak fall foliage in Colorado. You can see the different colors of the leaves on the mountains behind them in every picture!

Ceremony Space

The ceremony space at The Barn at Sunset Ranch is just outside the venue, and is the most picturesque feature of the venue. Hello Collegiate Peaks! The arch is set up perfectly to frame the 14ers. There is a long, winding path from the venue to the outdoor ceremony space. You don’t need to purchase additional seating because wooden benches are already set up here.

For a rain plan, you could use the indoor space for smaller ceremonies. A tent may be the best option for larger ceremonies.

Cocktail Hour at The Barn at Sunset Ranch

Cocktail hour is primarily outdoors under the fairy lighting. Drinks are poured by The Pour Trailer which is their preferred beverage vendor. Guests can enjoy yard games, photo booths, and Beverage Burrows, like what Miranda and Cory had set up for everyone.

Reception Space

The reception space at The Barn at Sunset Ranch is perfect for large gatherings. It is meant to be a blank canvas for you to really make your own. This does take planning, as the venue is in a remote location and you will need to bring in all of your decorations.

The space is optimized for indoor-outdoor hosting. Miranda and Cory used the indoor space for dinner and toasts, then moved to the outdoor space for their first dances, before finally heading back inside for the rest of the night. Guests enjoyed mingling between the two spaces all night long.

Meet your photographer

I’m a North Carolina-based wedding and elopement photographer and videographer, always ready to pack a bag for wherever your love takes you. Photography became my passion after losing my dad and realizing how much I wished I had more recent memories of him to look back on. That’s why I do what I do: to preserve the love, laughter, and connection in a way that feels as warm and sentimental as sunshine itself.

Your memories deserve to be captured & remembered. That’s what I’m here for.
